Wayman Tisdale:
We at Rainbow Promotions, LLC and the Long Beach Jazz Festival are deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Wayman Tisdale.

We’ve known and worked with Wayman for over 10 years and have never met a more courageous, happy and caring person. Wayman was scheduled to perform on Friday, August 7, 2009.

There will be a special dedication to Wayman on Friday the 7th of August at the festival, and the entire festival will be dedicated to this “Gentle Giant” of jazz.
